What It Is
Be Different: Compete is a HowdyFit Foundation scholarship program supporting amateur triathletes who have earned qualification to eligible national or international championship events but face financial barriers to participating.
Selected recipients receive a:

What the scholarship can support
Championship participation may include expenses such as:
- Airfare and travel
- Accommodations
- Race registration and championship fees
- Required team and competition apparel
- Bicycle transportation
- Ground transportation
- Meals
- Travel insurance
- Other costs associated with preparing for and participating in the championship
Recipients are trusted to determine how the scholarship can best support their individual championship journey.
Eligible championships
- USA Triathlon National Championship events
- IRONMAN World Championship
- IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship
- World Triathlon Championship events, including eligible Sprint, Standard/Olympic, and Mixed Relay championships
- T100 championship competition
Final program eligibility language will be reviewed and confirmed before applications launch.
Basic eligibility
- 18 years of age or older
- U.S. resident
- Amateur triathlete
- Qualified for an eligible championship
- Official qualification invitation or equivalent documentation required
- Demonstrated financial barrier to participation
